About the initiative

Purpose & Background

I’m on a mission to build a global community that stands in solidarity with the brave people of Iran.

My name is Nina and I came to Sweden from Kurdistan, Iran at the age of three with my family. The only reason I’m safe, and my cousins are not, is circumstantial. But, every woman deserves to be safe. Every woman deserves to be free.

We must amplify their voices. We must stand with them because without our support, they are left with nothing but hope.

Ways to wear it

“We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.

Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men or women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must—at that moment—become the center of the universe.”

— Nobel Peace Prize laureate and author Elie Wisel
